OPEN SCIENCE · FAIR ENTERPRISE USE

ARI Mathematical Kernel Open Science License

Version 1.0 · Community use is free. Enterprise-scale commercial use requires a separate paid license.

1. Definitions

Software means the ARI Mathematical Kernel, its source code, public pages, documentation, mathematical authorities, certification material and accompanying files.

Licensor means the copyright holder identified in the distributed project files.

Enterprise Entity means an organization that, together with entities it controls or is controlled by, has more than 250 employees or annual gross revenue above USD 50 million. An entity controlled by an Enterprise Entity is also an Enterprise Entity.

2. Free community and independent professional use

Subject to this License, the Licensor grants private individuals, hobbyists, students, independent engineers, independent scientists, freelancers, sole proprietors, non-profit organizations, open-source projects and organizations that are not Enterprise Entities a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive right to use, copy, study, modify, run and create derivative works from the Software for private, scientific, educational and commercial purposes.

3. Educational and institutional use

Universities, schools, public educational institutions and public research institutions may install, run, study, teach with, benchmark and cite unmodified official releases without charge.

These institutions may not modify the Software, distribute modified versions, remove certification evidence, or present altered results as originating from an official release without a separate written license.

4. Enterprise commercial license

An Enterprise Entity must obtain a separate written commercial license before using, copying, deploying, modifying, integrating, training on, redistributing, or providing access to the Software or a substantial part of it.

This requirement applies whether the use is internal, customer-facing, embedded in a product, offered through a cloud service, used in an AI system, or performed through a controlled affiliate.

5. Artificial-intelligence use

Uses permitted under Sections 2 and 3 include querying the Kernel, consuming its knowledge graph and AI Integration Layer, generating scientific context, and producing explanations. Enterprise Entities remain subject to Section 4.

No AI-generated statement may be represented as an official certified Kernel result unless it is directly supported by the unmodified certification evidence of the corresponding official release.

6. Canonical identity and certification integrity

Only unmodified releases published by the Licensor may be described as the Official Certified ARI Mathematical Kernel.

Every permitted derivative or modified copy must clearly state:

Derived from the ARI Mathematical Kernel. This is not an official certified release.

Certification records, provenance, authorship, copyright notices and license notices may not be falsified, removed or misleadingly presented.

7. Attribution

Redistributed copies and public products using the Software must preserve the copyright and license notices and provide a reasonable attribution:

Powered by the ARI Mathematical Kernel

8. Scientific publication

Results, equations, benchmark observations and authority references may be cited in scientific and technical publications. Citation does not imply endorsement by the Licensor.

9. No trademark grant

This License does not grant permission to use the ARI name, Aether Research Institute name, project marks or certification designation in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement or official status.

10. Termination

Rights granted under this License terminate automatically upon material breach. They may be restored when the breach is cured within 30 days after discovery, unless the Licensor has already provided written notice of permanent termination.

11. Disclaimer of warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR FITNESS FOR SAFETY-CRITICAL USE.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGE OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE.

13. Separate agreements

The Licensor may offer commercial, enterprise, support, certification or modification licenses under separate written terms. Such agreements do not change the rights of other users under this License.
